The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The objective of this subject is to introduce basics of Human Resource Management in order to understand all processes of this function. To introduce simple administrative processes, continuously follow to the more important, more complicated, more responsible and strategic tasks, that are all important for the creation of competitive advantage as recruitment and selection of employees, their development and training, compensation and benefits, succession planning, performance management, environment, health and safety, labour legislation, HR information system,, employee opinion surveys etc. Special attention will be paid to e-learning which plays significant part of development and training. All the named functions will be based and framed by the organizational culture, essential for the success. Human resource management will be understood as vital part of business.
Learning outcomes
Upon the course completion the students will be able to:
- implement acquired information in real life situations;
- analyse information coming from different sources;
- make objective and just judgement;
- to support principles of social responsibility.

Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures and seminars which require active participation of students at all stages of the teaching process. The course is comprised of:
classroom lecturing,
case studies discussions,
feedback and presentation sessions,
presentation and defence of group projects.
Information for students with ISP: Attendance at online lectures is recommended.
In person within the full-time teaching of the subject (once in 14 days in the combined form of study, twice per semester in the distance form of study) or in consultation hours (in person or online once a week), in writing via electronic information system (e-mail communication or e-learning applications).
Assessment methods
The course is completed by credit and exam. Credits will be granted for full-time students based on (1) in-class active participation, (2) compiling an individual task, presentation and defence and (3) compiling a group project, (4) presentation and defence of the project including answering tutor’s questions. Full-time students will not be awarded credits if their attendance is lower than 75 % and if they fail to submit the group project as well as the individual work on time. Part-time students will not be awarded credits if they fail to submit their essay on time and if their attendance is lower than 50 %. Final written/oral exam: max 100 points. The first term of the final exam is written and other terms oral. Grades: A (90-100), B (80-90), C (70-80), D (60-70), E (50-60) F (below 50).

The crucial step in meeting the objectives of the course is the student´s independent work throughout the course. The extensive individual preparation is needed.
