Course objectives
Banking objective of the course is to familiarize students with basic knowledge of banking in general   and   CR. At the end of this course the student will be able to: understand and explain the functioning of the financial and banking system, the position and the role of central banks, organizations and payment tools, features and status of banks, basic banking products, alternative corporate financing and investment banking foundations.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: - explain the nature of the bank and the savings and credit cooperative - to explain the breakdowns of banking products according to different criteria - characterize active and passive banking, - Apply procedures for providing basic banking products - explain the licensing of banks by the supervisory and supervisory authority, - to characterize the connection with the Czech Republic's membership in the EU to the banking sector
Syllabus
  • This curriculum is designed for full-time study , course of instruction for part-time study is presented in the study materials in the form of study materials or . methodological note (ML ) . Contents of lectures: 1 Financial market and banking development after 1989 ( the genesis of the new bank , State Bank of distribution , trends in banking nineties , restoring cooperative banking , genesis other financial market ) . 2 econd Financial market , banking system and the bank as its basic element (characteristic of financial markets , financial market participants , types of banking system , the Bank and its role in the financial market , banks were allocated according to established criteria). 3 The central bank , monetary policy and monetary policy instruments (characteristic of the central bank , the central bank , objectives and tasks of the central bank , the concept of monetary policy , monetary aggregates , types of monetary policy and its instruments ) . 4 Regulation , supervision and oversight of banks (the role of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic in the regulation of financial markets , banking supervision , information requirements for banks and other financial market , banking supervisors, forms of banking supervision and corrective measures) . 5 Banking transactions and their characteristics, bank balance and profit and loss (characteristic of banking transactions and their distribution according to various criteria , the main reflection banking transactions in the basic financial statements of the bank) . 6 Neutral bank transactions , payments, payment services (for an explanation of the difference between payment services and payment systems , distribution of products according to various criteria , based on national , foreign and cross-border payments and individual products - cash payments , documentary payments , checks ) 7 Passive banking transactions ( basic distribution of individual products , current and credit accounts, term deposits , savings accounts , certificates of deposit , passbook , methods of interest ) 8 Active banking business - the basics credit policy ( allocation of credit products according to various criteria , characteristics of the Bank's credit policy and the factors affecting it ) . 9 The types of loans , interest-bearing loans and redemption of construction plans , collateral (characteristics of different types of loans , determine the method and amount of the interest on the loan , working with the credit and interest rate risk , forms and types of collateral , receivables management ) . 10 Alternative forms of financing ( factoring , forfaiting, leasing ) 11 International Banking (characteristic of international banking, basic concepts , establishing correspondent relationships , international financial institutions , SWIFT ) , 12 Measures against money laundering and terrorist financing ( explanation of the fight against money laundering and the role of financial institutions - particularly banks

Teaching methods
Teaching takes the form lectures for each study.
Assessment methods
The test will take place in the form of a written test of knowledge in the scope of the content of lectures usually by adding an oral exam. The minimum range of fulfillment is 60% correct answers. However, the condition for admission to examination is the presentation of seminar paper of 5-8 pages on a given topic the teacher. In the course of work on the seminar paper the students will practice the use of technical literature, will improve the techniques of citing sources and will learn to use the correct form of professional text processing. Another condition for admission to the examination is active participation of each student in competition Ideal Bank of the 21st century. More information will be communicated to the lecturer.
