Course objectives
TThe aim of the subject is to build a knowledge base in the field of management and balanced leadership from a relatively broad point of view of managerial functions, so that the student is well equipped for the subsequent - already more specialized - subjects of the studied program, and to understand the overall context of management for the effective functioning of the company.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student will have the following professional knowledge. He will be able to:
to define, know and understand the essence and meaning of management,
introduce the concept of management from the point of view of management science and its developmental stages, explain the contribution of individual representatives to today's management,
explain and justify why management is necessary for all kinds of organizations, businesses, state administration, etc.
clarify why management requires a systems approach, specify management functions/processes,
get to know the role and role of managers, their typology, managerial styles,
understand the basic principles of balanced leadership, self-management, develop a personal development plan,
based on the variability of economic reality, define the reason for change management and approaches to change management,
explain the contribution of the CSR approach and philosophy, the trend direction of ESG,
explain the importance of ethical compliance in a business environment,
explain the difference between process and project management,
and explain the concept of innovation and risk management in connection with the competitiveness of the company, be able to describe specific company activities and activities within the framework of the Innovation Management Model, the lean business trend.

Teaching methods
The lectures will usually contain a lecture part (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part (case study). Part of the lecture may include continuous checking of knowledge, filling in self-assessment questionnaires, discussions on the given topic, group work, etc. Part of it will be giving ideas for reflection for home preparation for the next lesson.
The exercises will be focused practically on gaining knowledge using one's own judgments, they will be based on economic and critical thinking oriented to entrepreneurship, business, creativity, creativity, presentation and communication skills, an active approach to the world, an open approach to new forms of management, they will be in teams subjects to be confused from compulsory literature are solved.
Teaching in the combined study will take place in the form of a guided consultation, where, in addition to a condensed presentation of the topic, prior self-study is also assumed, so that subsequent consultation is possible.
Assessment methods
The subject ends with a CREDIT and an EXAM.
Full-time study: The awarding of credit is tied to the fulfillment of the obligation of active attendance of min. 75% (i.e. not just mere presence, but active participation in the course of teaching, discussion, interaction, argumentation), active access to case studies and food for thought
EXAMINATION - ORAL: relevant discussion of the exam paper, case studies solved during the course of the lesson in connection with the theoretical knowledge of the field of management.
The exam will only be possible after a credit has been awarded, which will be entered by the training teacher in the student's notebook.
Combined studies: The granting of credit is tied to the fulfillment of the obligation of active attendance in min. in the range of 50% on guided consultations (however, not just mere presence, but active participation in the course of teaching, discussion, interaction, argumentation).
Credit and exam see face-to-face form of teaching.
Late attendance will not be accepted for students during classes, and if a class, tutorial or consultation is taking place via Microsoft Teams, it is expected that the camera and microphone are turned on when prompted by the teacher.
