Course objectives
The goal of subject is:
- to acquaint students with projects of development of IS and with management of projects of development of IS
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- work with concepts of information, system, information system
- explain the linking IS into business structure
- describe contemporary architectures of information systems (IS)
- explain and describe methods of designing of development of IS and methods of management of projects of development of IS

  • 1. Information system as a special case of a system, approaches to the system
  • 2. Basic principles of IS analysis and modeling
  • 3. Methodologies and approaches, their advantages and disadvantages and their critical analysis, SW engineering
  • 4. Information Strategy - purpose, structure, content and procedure of development of information strategy
  • 5. Principles of project management
  • 6. Projects of developement of IS - general principals
  • 7. Projects of developement of IS – specific problems, standards and relation to nethodologies of development of IS
  • 8. Methods of developement of IS
  • 9. Summary repetition

Teaching methods
Lectures, excercises and seminars in full-time study.
Managed consultations and tutorials in part-time study.
Minimal required participation is 75% on seminars in full-time study and 50% on tutorials in part-time study.
Students with lower than required participation have to fulfill additional study duties.
Assessment methods
The subject ends with assessment (during the semester two projects are solved) and examination.
Examination consists of written test.
Student is succesfull if his test is assesed by minimal 60%.
