Finished bachelor study of Applied Informatics.

The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Acquire overview about advantages of database processing from the position of an information manager. At the end of the course students should be able to use technologies: SQL, XML, OLAP, Full text search.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- Write complex SQL statements containing multiple levels of plurality of select or group by;
- Create multiple listings with different execution plans for the query;
- Create queries over XML databases in XPath and XQuery
- Ability to create a data warehouse and use datas with rollup and cube clauses
- Ability to create a query over a full-text database

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars in full-time study, in part-time study instruction is e-learning. Theoretical knowledge will be applied to practical exercises at Microsoft SQL Server. Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study
Assessment methods
Four individual home works (min. 80%). Exam: Programming exercise on computer with discussion about source codes (min 65%).
