Course objectives
The student is able to work out the Assignment of the Diploma thesis (DT) and the Intension to DT. The student will be ready by the end of the course to work out the DT within a subsequent subject Diploma Project 1. During the course in seminar classes students will be taught to respect author’s ethics as well as the quality of scientific and academic work.

  • 1. Meaning, structure, topic and rules of working out the Diploma thesis DT, Assignment of DT
  • 2. Principles and procedure of working out the introduction to DT
  • 3. Information sources, study and working with scientific and professional texts
  • 4. Methods of scientific and professional work, creating DT texts, form of DT
  • 5. Forms of DT, ethics of creative work, references and citations
  • 6. Conclusion of DT, completing and defending DT

Teaching methods
Seminars in full-time study, tutorials in part-time study. Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study , compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
Assessment methods
The course is completed with a credit based on handing in the Assignment of the DT and the basic text of the Intension. The management of the faculty can set further conditions for awarding a credit. The credit can be awarded exclusively by the teacher of the subject, not by the DT supervisor.
