The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Content of the subject covers legal fundaments of the EU internal market and related policies (consumer protection, competition policy, Common commercial policy). The aim is to aquire practical knowledge of relationships and procedures in the framework of the implementation of the common policies of the EU Member States and their incorporation into national law
Learning outcomes
Successful passing of the exam from the subject.
Syllabus
  • 1 Foundations of the internal market 1.1 economic integration, its form and developmental levels (from the Customs Union to the Monetary Union) 1.2 internal market, origin and components. Sources of law and the case-law of the internal market 1.3 free movement of goods, free movement of persons, freedom of establishment 1.4 free movement of services, free movement of capital and payments 2.EU competition policy and the legal framework 2.1 rules of competition policy for undertakings 2.2 competition policy Rules for States 3. EU trade policy, trade companies 3.1 EU common commercial policy - primary and secondary law, implementation 3.2 companies according to EU law, harmonisation of company law of member countries 4. consumer protection in the EU law 4.1 public law (regulation of advertising , product safety, producer's liability) 4.2 private law protection of economic interests of the consumer) 4.3 protection of intellectual property rights in the EU law

Assessment methods
he course is closed by credits and an oral examination. The criterion for the award of credit is preparation of assignment on the specified topic from the area of competition law and consumer protection law (minimum 50% points) and passing the written test, which consists of 30 questions (minimum 50% points).
