Course objectives
By successfully completing the "Economics of Financial Services Entities" course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects, relationships, and processes that characterize the field of study. Additionally, they will develop essential skills and habits to apply their knowledge effectively in real-world scenarios. A specific objective is to grasp the distinctions between financial management in financial businesses and institutions, including insurance companies, and to comprehend the unique challenges posed by regulatory frameworks on the financial performance of banks, funds, insurance companies, and other entities offering financial services.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing this course, the student will be able to understand and explain the methods and strategies used in the business and management of financial service providers, including banks, securities dealers, collective investment schemes, and market infrastructure operators. They will also be competent in explaining the economic essence of the activities of these entities. I wish you a successful completion of the course!

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study. Students who fail to meet the mandatory level of participation may be given during the semester additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of course).
Assessment methods
The course is concluded by credit. The credit certifies the fulfillment of the study duties, in particular active participation in lessons and preparation of a seminar essay on the chosen topic, 10 pages.Topic according to the content of the subject, possibly agreed by the teacher.
