Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain issues of Archives and Records Management (Document Management) as a part of public administration in the Czech Republic. Introduction is devoted to basic overview of the historical auxiliary sciences, history, tenure, relation   archives to the other memory institutions, profession and education archivist -   all with an emphasis on the area of the Czech lands in the past and in     present. In addition, students are acquainted with the history of   and its activities in the archives   Czech Republic (selection of archival records and their public disclosure, protection and use of archival documents). The last block is focused on issues of governance documents at   public and private agents in the Czech Republic, the relevant legislation by   Archives   and Records Service and the main related regulations. In addition to managing traditional (analog) documents, the attention paid to the issue of digital documents and current issues of the development of e-Government in the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to: -Orientate in the contemporary legislation of file and archive service. -Characterize the main events of the history of Czechoslovak archives. -Know the principles of the selection of archival documents. -Describe the rules of records and usage of archival documents -Apply the principles of the correct record management.

Czechoslovak archives. 6 Pre-archival care and selection of archival materials. 7 Records, access, protection and use of archival documents in the archives in the Czech Republic. 8 Legislation file and archive services in the Czech Republic: Past and Present. 9 Records management (document management) at   public and private agents in the Czech Republic   present. 10 Computerization of public administration, 11 E-Government in the Czech Republic   12 The current state of the problem.

Teaching methods
Type of teaching: Teaching consists of lectures and exercises in full-time studies and controlled group consultations in the form of study. The scope of compulsory participation in education: minimum compulsory attendance at lectures and exercises in full-time studies is 75%, the controlled group consultations in combined form 50%. Students who fail to meet the mandatory level of participation may be given during the semester additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of course).
Assessment methods
In the full-time study: For credit: Seminar work on a given subject lecturers / students the range in min. 4 - 5 pages and preparing a presentation on teacher assigned topic. Is expected to actively participate in exercises involving participation in facilitated discussions. Also successfully pass a writen test. Final test has questions mostly with variants ABCD, with the only correct answer. Required success rate for successful completion of the test - at least 65% correct answers. Students who do not meet the requirements for credit, they may receive a substitute teacher assignments. In the combined form of study: For credit: Successfully pass a writen test. Final test has questions mostly with variants ABCD, with the only correct answer. Required success rate for successful completion of the test - at least 65% correct answers. Students who do not meet the requirements for credit, they may receive a substitute teacher assignments. For both forms of study subject after obtaining the credit concluded with an oral exam. The exam includes the answers to 2 questions.
