- Předmět Veřejná ekonomika je pojat široce jako výklad základů moderní teorie a politiky veřejného sektoru ve světě a v Česku. Finanční krize v mnoha vyspělých zemích v uplynulých letech odhalila řadu slabin soukromého i veřejného sektoru, zásadní národohospodářský i sociální význam veřejné ekonomiky tím byl v mnoha směrech podroben stresovému testu veřejné volby. Mezi jednotlivými zeměmi byly a jsou velké rozdíly ve fiskální a sociální politice, ve využívání veřejného a soukromého sektoru. Problematika veřejné ekonomiky je rozdělena do dvou navazujících předmětů: Veřejná ekonomika 1 a 2.

- 1. Budgetary system, fiscal federalism, public administration financing 2. Public receipts, its structure and trends 3. Tax welfare regimes. Tax mixes. Optimal taxation theory, progressivity, progression systems 4. Personal income taxation: tax expenditures, tax credits, joint taxation of couples 5. Models and selected systems of personal income taxation: links to social insurance 6. Corporate income taxation, capital incomes taxation, self-employed taxation 7. Expenditure, consumption, turnover and value added taxation 8. Financial sector taxation and subsidization. Sectorial taxes 9. Excise taxation 10. Property taxation 11. Environmental policy and taxation 12. Fiscal deficit and public debt
