- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Clarification of the terms of linear algebra and their mutual relationships (vector spaces, matrix operations, solutions to the system of linear equations). Presenting the sequence and its limit; function; continuous function and the limit of a function; and elementary functions to the students. Understanding the mathematical operation of a derivative and its main properties; learning to calculate the derivatives of functions; learning the basic theorems in differential calculus.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to: -solve a linear system by matrices -evaluate limits of functions and limits of sequences -evaluate a derivative of a function -evaluate a limit of function by l'Hospital's rule

- 3. Matrix. Rank of matrix.
- 4. System of linear equations.
- 5. Matrix operations. Inverse matrix.
- 6. Determinants.
- 7. Sequence. Limit of sequence.
- 8. Function and its properties.
- 9. Basic functions. Continuity and limit of function.
- 10. Derivative and its properties.
- 11. Derivative of composite function.
- 12. Applications of derivative - l'Hospital's rule, equation of tangent line.

- Teaching methods
- The subject is delivered in full-time study by 12 lectures of theory and 12 seminars. Lectures and seminars in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
- Assessment methods
- Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study. The subject is completed by credit test and written examination. Passing a written test (min. 60%) is required to award the credit. Prerequisite for taking the exam is the credit. Grading will be based on an individual written examination.
