Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the basic problems of criminology, but also practically aspects of some specific selected types of crime. The aim is to acquaint students with the issues and concepts in the field of science that deals with crime, a crime as a mass social and legal phenomenon. In the process of teaching, ie within the designated time allotment, to give students the necessary theoretical knowledge in particular. This knowledge also some practical examples to demonstrate the possibilities of appropriate crime prevention even in relation to specific selected types of crime. In particular, the teaching will focus attention on mastering the essential terms relating to the same basic criminological theories. Furthermore, the condition of the structure and dynamics of crime, crime forecasting and crime prevention.

Successful passing of the exam from the subject.

  • 1. The general interpretation of the foundations of the field of criminology. Concept and object relationship to the related sciences, other sciences to  , the practical importance of criminology. 2. Stage, structure and dynamics of crime, criminological research. 3. Environment and crime, predicting crime. 4. Socio-psychological processes and their impact on crime. 5. Criminological theory. 6. Relationship criminology and criminal law. 7. Personality of the offender. 8. Injury and victims of crime. 9. Principles of restorative justice. Probation and Mediation Service. 10. Criminal control. 11. Criminology and penology. 12. Crime prevention. Crime prevention as a science activity, classification, basic values ​​and principles. Selected types of crime.

Teaching methods
Lectures in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
Assessment methods
The course is completed with a credit. A specific written study with her presentations in teaching (50% points min) and 30 written test questions (50% points min) is required to award the credit.
