Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the principles of EU structural policy and its instruments (individual funds) and goals. Student receives current information about the programming period 2014 - 2020 on the implementation of grant programs to regional policy of the Czech Republic. Become familiar with the objectives and structure of operational programs, their institutional security as the phases of project management.

  • 1 Introduction to the curriculum, and basic concepts 2 Historical development of regional policy as part of the EU integration process 3 Regional and structural policy 4 Principles of Structural Policy 5 EU Structural Funds and objectives of structualk policy 6 EU pre-accession funds and the Czech Republic (CBC Phare, Phare Black Triangle ...) 7 Czech Republic and the EU grant programs in the period 2004 - 2006 8 The Czech Republic in the programming period 2007 -2013, operational programs, institutional security. 9 Analysis of the gaps in the drawing (not drawn) of EU funds in 2007-2013 10 EU programming period 2014-2020 - Europe 2020 strategy, allocation of grant funds 11 Operational programs in the Czech Republic, goals, focus, scope of regional institutional security, forms, policy control disbursement of funds 12 Project process under operational programs (applicants, project administration, selection, monitoring, etc.

Teaching methods
Lecture using PowerPoint presentations. Exercise with discussion and presentation of the essay. Controlled group of consultation individual studying some problems from the literature and current (electronic) sources. Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
Assessment methods
Credits. Condition of the credit is written and presentation of seminar work at the required level.   In the case of controlled consultation is provided and write a short essay defending the required level.
