- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the functions of the Central Bank, its mission and activities. Will be able to explain the role of money indicators, monetary aggregates and the role of central bank as the bank of banks, the issues of banking regulation and supervision and entry into banking sector. Students will be able to clarify the role of central banks such as State Bank, the institutional position of the central bank, central bank management (leadership, organizational structure, powers) will be able to understand monetary policy and the central bank will be able to explain the characteristics of the Czech National Bank, the European Central Bank and the selected central banks (e.g. FED, Bank of England, etc).
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to orientate themselves in the position of a central bank in the Czech Republic and in the world after completing the course. They become aware of the functions of the central bank, the tasks of the Czech National Bank and its management. They will understand the fundamentals of monetary policy within the Czech Republic as well as the EU.

- Teaching methods
- Teaching takes the form / lectures / seminars / workshops / full-time study / group consultations and managed in the form of study. Minimum mandatory attendance at seminars / workshops in full-time studies is 75%, the controlled group consultations in combined form 50%. Students who fail to meet the mandatory level of participation may be given during the semester additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of course).
- Assessment methods
- The course is concluded with an combine exam, exam requirements: sucsessful credits passing which depends on the slide presentation of seminary work on agreed topics and the student´s activity on semminars and lectures.
