- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquire detailed knowledge about important personalities of criminology and important institutions influencing criminology. Students will gain knowledge about the historical development of criminology, criminological methods and forensic sciences. They will know important milestones in the development of world and Czech criminology, they will get acquainted with the overall development of criminology, especially they will get to know the Czechoslovak school and the historical development of criminology in connection with important milestones of this science.
- Learning outcomes
- The output of the course is the student's acquired knowledge demonstrated in the oral exam.

- 1. The beginnings of world and Czech criminology 2. Development of world criminology and forensic sciences in the Middle Ages 3. Development of Czech criminology and forensic sciences in the Middle Ages 4. Development of criminology in the period of the 18th and 19th centuries 5. Development of criminology in the 19th and 20th centuries 6. Historical beginnings of criminology methods in Czechoslovakia in the period 1918 - 1939 7. Personalities of criminology - Aplhonse Bertillon 8. Personalities of criminology - Francis Galton, Edmund Locard 9. Personalities of criminology - Hans Gross, Paul Uhlenhuth 10. Personalities of criminology - Jan Evangelista Purkyně 11. Personalities of criminology - Ladislav Havlíček, Josef Povondra 12.
