- The student should have knowledge of high school mathematics - especially basic knowledge of functions, solving systems of equations and mathematical symbols.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide the student with a set of mathematical knowledge as a tool for more efficient and qualified business management, managerial decision-making or optimization in the creation of a marketing strategy. The resulting knowledge will be an input for the successful study and use of applied statistics, as well as microeconomics and macroeconomics.
- Learning outcomes
- After successfully completing the course, the student will be able to:
- describe some economic and social structures using mathematical functions;
- solve basic optimization tasks (in particular, calculate the value of key parameters when maximizing profit or minimizing costs);
- work with the time value of money;
- define advanced economic and business problems using the language of mathematics and then solve them using freely available software. - Syllabus
- Mathematical symbolism, reading mathematical notation.
- Basic mathematical operations, propositional logic, sets.
- Numbers and counting with them.
- Matrix algebra.
- Number sequences and series.
- Function.
- Differential calculus.
