In the research study, based on an in-depth analysis and interpretation, the authors compare the Slavic god Veles with non-European and European characters, which today we traditionally consider the so-called trickster. The aim is to find out whether we can safely classify this contradictory figure of the Slavic deity among the tricksterian figures of world mythologies and to what extent his religious-mythological iconization corresponds to the basic (essential) attributes of the archetype of the trickster.

Výzkumná studie, založená na důkladné analýze a interpretaci, autoři porovnávají slovanského boha Velesa s neevropskými a evropskými postavami, které dnes tradičně považujeme za takzvaného trickstera. Cílem je zjistit, zda můžeme tento protikladný obraz slovanského božstva bezpečně zařadit mezi trickstery světových mytologií a do jaké míry jeho nábožensko-mythologická ikonizace odpovídá základním (podstatným) atributům archetypu trickstera.
