Tato kapitola analyzuje vliv výdajů na starobní důchody na vývoj deficitu státního rozpočtu České republiky v horizontu příštích 60 let (2025–2085). Zaměřuje se na demografický fenomén tzv. Husákových dětí – silné populační vlny narozené v 70. letech 20. století – a jejich přechod do důchodového věku. Analýza demonstruje, že přestože bude v období 2030–2060 docházet k výraznému nárůstu podílu důchodců na celkové populaci, situace má dočasný charakter. Po několika dekádách se demografická struktura stabilizuje a tlak na státní rozpočet se zmírní. Kapitola na základě současných demografických projekcí ČSÚ dokazuje, že místo drastických systémových změn je třeba hledat rychlá, ale přiměřená řešení, která pomohou překlenout toto demograficky náročné období.

This chapter analyses the impact of expenditure on old-age pensions on the development of the state budget deficit of the Czech Republic over the next 60 years (2025–2085). It focuses on the demographic phenomenon of the so-called Husák children – strong population waves born in the 1970s – and their transition to retirement age. The analysis demonstrates that although there will be a significant increase in the share of pensioners in the total population in the period 2030–2060, the situation is temporary. After a few decades, the demographic structure will stabilize and the pressure on the state budget will ease. Based on the current demographic projections of the Czech Statistical Office, the chapter demonstrates that instead of drastic systemic changes, it is necessary to seek quick but adequate solutions that will help bridge this demographically challenging period.
