N2  - Our study aims to uncover the current the role of ERP in Czech companies and the way it serves to create corporations´ competitive advantage. The study uses questionnaire research methodology referring the current stage of development. We have found that the most of often used systems are SAP and Microsoft for large firms and Helios and other local systems for small and medium firms. The complexity of use of ERP systems varies according to the needs of particular company. ERP system is the most frequently used for costing. Moreover, the required customization plays crucial role and the service to the end-user is one of decisive factors determining the frequency of usage of particular ERP system.
