The chapter analyzes the birth of Slavic paganism and the question of the idea of death among contemporary Czech Gentiles. The study consists of a field research in the form of direct interviews with respondents and personal memories and oral and written testimony of some members of the first generation of representatives of contemporary Czech paganism. The chapter also provides excerpts from discussions on the websites of members of the contemporary Czech pagan community.

Kapitola analyzuje zrod slovanského pohanství a otázku představy o smrti u současných českých pohanů. Studie se skládá z výzkumu ve formě přímého rozhovoru s respondenty a osobních vzpomínek a ústního i písemného svědectví některých členů první generace představitelů současného českého pohanství. V kapitole jsou citovány také výňatky z diskusí na internetových stránkách členů současné české pohanské komunity.
