The aim of the paper is to provide new research knowledge of the issue of start-ups; and in particular, to explore through financial indicators the metrics for defining start-ups in information and communication technologies and systems. The subject of investigation consists of small enterprises. There is some evidence that an examination in the IS/ICT field requires systems approach.

Cílem příspěvku je přinést nové vědecké poznatky k problematice startupů; zejména prozkoumat prostřednictvím finančních ukazatelů metriky pro definování startupů v informačních a komunikačních technologiích a systémech. Předmětem výzkumu jsou malé podniky. Příspěvek obsahuje důkazy, že zkoumání v oblasti IS/ICT vyžaduje systémový přístup.
