Recently, the notion of business rules management systems (BRMS) emerges in the business people community as a new category of knowledge-based decision support systems. The paper reviews the basic principles of business rules and shows how they are influenced by expert systems, developed in the artificial intelligence community more than 30 years ago.

Před časem se v komunitě lidí zabývajících se managementem objevil nový koncept business rules management systémů jakožto systémů na podporu rozhodování založených na znalostech. Příspěvek popisuje základní principy těchto systémů a ukazuje, jak jsou ovlivněny expertními systémy vyvinutými v oblasti umělé inteligence před 30 lety.
