Pojištění a pojišťovnictví to jsou dva do sebe dobře zapadající celky, které se jeden bez druhého neobejde. Stačí se poohlédnout ke vzniku naší státnosti ke dni 1.1.1993, tedy ke vzniku samostatné ČR. A náhle zjistíme, že před vznikem naší republiky jsme měli na našem území pouze jednu pojišťovnu a k tomu dobrého občana, neboli občanský zákoník číslo 40/1964 Sb., a k tomu bylo pár vládních nařízení a vyhlášek z ministerstva financí. Bylo prostě vše jiné, ale i tak velice dobře funkční. Čas se ale nedá zastavit a na pojistný trh se začali postupně tlačit jiné pojišťovny a k tomu bylo potřeba změnit legislativu. Nová právní úprava, která to umožnila, byl zákon ČNR č. 185/1991 Sb., o pojišťovnictví, který nabyl účinnosti dnem 28. května 1991. A tímto zákonem začala nová éra v oblasti novodobých dějin v pojišťovnictví. V této knize jsme se snažili srovnat aktuální legislativní změny v oboru pojištění a pojišťovnictví tak, jak pojistný trh potřeboval vnímat tyto změny. Pojišťovnictví, i když to není samostatná věda, tak svým obsahem a pojetím zasahuje do mnoha jiných právních odvětví. A nelze ani opomenout, že občana v současné době pojišťovnictví a pojištění provází celý jeho život. Publikace byla psána pro laickou i odbornou veřejnost tak, aby si v ní každý vybral to, co potřebuje a každému to bylo srozumitelné.

Insurance and insurance industry are two well-fitting units that cannot exists without each other. Just when we look back at the establishment of our statehood on 1.1.1993, i.e. the foundation of a separate Czech Republic. And suddenly we find that before our Republic was founded we had only one insurance company and the Civil Code No. 40/1964 Coll., and in addition to that there were a couple of government regulations and decrees from the Ministry of Finance. Everything was different, but very functional nevertheless. But flow of time cannot be stopped and new insurance companies started to enter gradually the insurance market and need to change the legislation had raised. The new legislation that allowed this was the Act No. 185/1991 Coll., On Insurance, which came into effect on 28 May 1991. This Act introduced a new era in the modern history of insurance. In this book we have tried to compare the current legislative changes in insurances and insurance industry as the insurance market needed to perceive these changes. Insurance, though not a separate science, extends its content and concept to many other legal branches. And one must not even forget that currently insurance industry and insurance is accompanying the citizen his whole life. This publication was written for the lay and professional public so that everyone is able to select information according his needs in form accessible to everyone.
