Vláda by měla konečně začít konat, pomoci by mohlo i samotné sloučení obou příslušných ministerstev

The long-term care analyses in the world arrive more and more at the conclusion to interweave or integrate the health care and the long-term care (LTC). In Czechia these issues are on the front burner because we have had a systemic makeshift in the health care organizing and financing: even through the „Reimbursement Decree“ of the Ministry of Health is the key state regulation vehicle, seven parallel health insurance institutions have persisted, receiving funds from a hidden trust fund, giving the impression that the health care is not tax-financed. One part of LTC is a component of the health care sector. The other part is funded partly through a structured universal cash benefit, which was introduced according to the alleged British manner, and partly with state grants for social services, which had to be abolished after the introduction of the LTC benefit. The reform of financing of both health care and LTC remains to be done and the optimum solution is to base it on coherent public politics. Generally said there are “at disposal” four LTC models: liberal, Christian Democratic (conservative), Social Democratic and neoliberal welfare regimes; their distinctions are pronounced in the LTC financing. The government should finally take the action, even a mere merger of both ministries could help.
