Their operations reflect the natural conditions and wealth of the regions, the specific demographic characteristics, unique knowledge and skills and the continuation of the traditions of their forbears and they operate within the given institutional framework of the country. This research focuses on the operations of family businesses in the regions of the Czech Republic and support for their growth and development. It has been ascertained that the predominant share of family businesses operate in Prague and the surrounding Central Bohemian Region. The main branch of industry occupied by Czech family businesses involves plant and animal production, wholesale and food production. Business associations provide support in the area of education for family businesses. Material and financial support and development guarantees can be acquired from the ministries and banks. Investments made in family businesses mainly remain in the regions where the businesses are active and thus constitute the basis for their activities as service providers. ER -
