Course objectives
The development and current state of scientific knowledge at   management of financial institutions in terms of   Developed market economies. The definition of "financial institution". Classification of financial institutions. Typology of financial institutions. The status and importance of financial institutions in the contemporary market system  . Specifics of financial institutions in terms of   EU and the Czech Republic. Criteria, methods and techniques of financial decision-making at the micro level, ie mainly on the level of large and medium-sized financial institutions.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to perform an advanced analysis and analysis of financial aspects of selected financial institution. It can use the advanced argument to explain the different approaches in financial decision making of various financial institutions from the position of achieving positive economic results. He will be able to explain at a high professional level the regulation of financial institutions and their impact on the financial performance of the institution. page
Syllabus
  • Subject contains thematic units: theoretical concept of "financial institutions"; function, status and importance of financial institutions in a market economy  ; theory of financial institutions and their management; specific management of large and medium-sized financial institutions and their regulation; comprehensive theory of strategic management of financial institutions; optimizing the cost of capital in the case of inhomogeneous   services (banking, insurance, leasing, etc.); strategy and tactic behavior of financial institutions.

Teaching is in the form of lectures and seminars (or controlled group consultations KS) and discussions over the studied literature. Is associated with an active creative work of the student with the result in the form of essay according to the assignment of the teacher.

The course is ended credit (essay) and is part StDZk.
