Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the current level of managing the documents as part of the public administration in the Czech Republic. The introduction is devoted to basic concepts and analysis of the legislation in force Document Management in the Czech Republic, both with regard to the field of public administration, as well as focusing on the private sector. The content of the next block is called analysis. Document Lifecycle of a particular agent, the interpretation is focused, in addition to classic types of documents simultaneously on documents in digital form. The section devoted to the duties and rights of agents in the management of documents is a summary of current knowledge and basic ends of the loop. Followed by specific and emerging topics devoted to document management practices in selected specific areas, such as the selection of archival, storage, protection and use documents. From the perspective of interdisciplinary contexts with regard to the acquisition of basic practical skills of students is further attention also paid to the following document management on issues of accounting, tax, audit, insolvency, administrative action, or other related field, and on the basis of current legislation in the country. The last part of the course is an approximation of contemporary business practice in the area of document management in the country.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to: -Describe the main duties and rights of originators in the field of the record management in the public and private sector. -Know the main differences between documents in their analog and digital form. -Explain the work with documents in so called memory institutions. -Apply the principles of the good administration in related fields (accounting, taxes, audit, insolvency and administrative management).

  • 1 Current legislation in the Czech Republic and document management in public bodies. 2 Current legislation in the Czech Republic and document management in the private sector. 3 Documents in classical and in digital form and specific factors in managing them. 4 Document management - history and today. 5 Pre-archival care and selection of archival materials. 6 The issue of storing and protecting documents. 7 Records used by agents. Archives and other so-called Memory institutions. 8 Record management and personal data. 9 Event Management and Document Management in the Czech Republic. 10 Contemporary practice business in the Czech Republic in the field of document management.

Teaching methods
Type of teaching: Teaching consists of lectures and exercises in full-time studies and controlled group consultations in the form of study. The scope of compulsory participation in education: minimum compulsory attendance at lectures and exercises in full-time studies is 75%, the controlled group consultations in combined form 50%. Students who fail to meet the mandatory level of participation may be given during the semester additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of course).
Assessment methods
In the full-time study: For credit: Seminar work on a given subject lecturers / students the range in min. 4 - 5 pages and preparing a presentation on teacher assigned topic. Is expected to actively participate in exercises involving participation in facilitated discussions. Also successfully pass a writen test. Final test has questions mostly with variants ABCD, with the only correct answer. Required success rate for successful completion of the test - at least 65% correct answers. Students who do not meet the requirements for credit, they may receive a substitute teacher assignments. In the combined form of study: For credit: Successfully pass a writen test. Final test has questions mostly with variants ABCD, with the only correct answer. Required success rate for successful completion of the test - at least 65% correct answers. Students who do not meet the requirements for credit, they may receive a substitute teacher assignments. For both forms of study subject after obtaining the credit concluded with an oral exam. The exam includes the answers to 2 questions.
