Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills of standard management practices that are prerequisite for the performance of management and business functions. In addition students would receive an introduction into cross-cultural, linguistic, psychology and creativity related aspects influencing management of multicultural teams, management of innovations and management of uncertainties. The content stands for a synthesis of findings and knowledge gained in previous classes and from recommended readings and homework and their use in the class when confronted with a complementary information and request for comparison, critical thinking outcome, result (succession, consequence) analysis and similar. Emphasis would be placed on a comprehensive view, contextual meanings and specific linguistic formulations, including example of the use of E-Prime.
Syllabus
1. Linguistics aspects in terms of mother tongue, foreign language and E-Prime; meaning and importance of specific words, formulations and feedback; 2. Psychological aspects in terms of an individual psychology (the manger itself), group psychology (a team and the company) and ''thought as a system''; 3. Creativity aspects in terms of individual and group ability, creativity on purpose, introduction into solving basis contradictions and history of patent law; 4. Presentation / personal, business idea and business plan – an interactive session; 5. Examples of Outcomes based on lack of critical thinking – an interactive session; 6. Examples of HR management tasks – an interactive session; 7. Performance and staff evaluation strategies in the past and present; a few trends for the near future; 8. What is neuro-marketing, its trends and fields of application; the value of the difference between quantitative and qualitative marketing methods as formulated by Ernest Dichter in ''The Strategy of Desire'' and as opposed by Vance Packhard in his ''The Hidden Persuaders.'' 9. To manage or to being able change the rules? Dedicated to the current globalized economy and its key players; 10. The value of the right to have the last question – an interactive session as a part of the examination process.

Teaching methods
PS: (full time students) 2 hours per week of lectures and 2 hours per week of seminars (2/2); KS: (part time students) 5 seminars (90 min each). Lectures for present studies will be split into theoretical as well as practical part. Theoretical parts will be always explained on practical examples. Even more interactive form of study is applied in KS (part time study). Students in full time study program should attend 75% of seminars as a minimum. Students in part time study program should attend 50% of seminars as a minimum.
Assessment methods
Students will receive credit for their participation in classroom discussions, their ability to present (themselves, an idea and if possible a business plan). They are expected to be diligent in their studies at home and in the class and to attend class regularly (50% as a minimum). The presence stands for 25%, home work for 25% and overall activity during the classess for remaining 50%. The subject is completed by exam. Grading will be based on an individual oral examination.
