The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
To deepen knowledge of principles of designing Information Systems (IS). To deepen methodologies and techniques used in designing of IS including managing projects. To learn english terminology in order to be able to work in an international team.
Syllabus
During the learning in the semester are tought and discussed following themes: 1)Overview of Systems Development: Systems analysis and systems design. Their application to information systems design (ISD). 2)Modeling and Designing Systems: Structured methodologies. 3)Modeling and Designing Systems: Object-oriented methodologies. 4)Life Cycle Methodology. Prototyping. Rapid Application Development. 5)End User Development and Fourth-generation Languages. 6)Outsourcing. Application SW Providing (ASP), Software as a Service (SaaS), Cloud Computing. 7)Open Source SW based IS. 8)Managing Projects: Project management. Linking system projects to the business plan. Critical Succes Factors (CSF). 9)Managing Projects: Time Management (Network Analysis, Critical Path Method, PERT, Gantt Charts). 10)Managing Projects: IS costs and benefits. Capital budgeting for IS. 11)Managing Projects: Risk Management. 12)Local, Regional and Global Systems.
