The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The graduate of this course will be able to understand the basic principles of management in public administration and the reasons for the introduction of modern management methods in the activities of public administration. It also will focus on specific areas of management of public administration: personnel management, quality management, project management, crisis management, regional management
Syllabus
  • 1st Introduction to curriculum - objectives, structure of the course, information resources, a form of evaluation.
  • 2nd General principles of management, definition of basic terms
  • 3rd The organizational structure of public administration, competencies and tasks of the public administration in management processes
  • 4th Modern managerial methods in public administration - NPM, CAF, Benchmarking, BSC. Problems with their implementation in the Czech public administration.
  • 5th Agenda 21, the Citizen's Charter
  • 6th Personnel management in the public administration
  • 7th Project management - project management in public administration
  • 8th Crisis Management in Public Administration
  • 9th Territorial (regional) management - goals, actors
  • 10th Public participation in decision-making processes in public administration
