Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The goal is that at the end of the course the student practical knowledge and skills in the area of ​​  relational databases, as well as to get acquainted with new trends in     object-relational and object databases. A substantial part is devoted to creating your own database project.
Syllabus
  • This curriculum is designed for full-time study, course of instruction for part-time study is presented in a methodological study materials list (ML). Contents of lectures: First Data Definition Language, Indexes Second integrity constraints Third Data manipulation language 4th Triggers, stored procedures 5th transaction 6th SQL and application programs, cursors 7th Rights and safety 8th IS architecture: three-tier, centralization / decentralization, replication, integration 9th data Warehousing 10th Advantages and shortcomings of the relational model, object-oriented approach 11th Object databases, Object-relational features of modern databases 12th Current trends and future vision. Summary practical approach to creating applications.

Teaching methods
Type of teaching: Teaching consists of lectures and exercises The scope of compulsory participation in education: Minimum mandatory participation in exercises in full-time is   75%, the controlled group consultations in   50% of the combined studies. Students who fail to meet mandatory scope of participation, may be given during the semester   additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of the subject
Assessment methods
Course completion: Credit is awarded on the basis of semester work: own database project (from conceptual design through SQL DDL code, one input / output form). The test is subject to a credit and is   50% based on the semester work and   50% to   written test of the theory.
