Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the economic policy of the government as a conscious activity, carried out with the aim of influencing the development   management, intervention in market systems, where it manifests as a delayed reaction systems not stimuli stemming from   government decision-making, as well as the effects of inconsistency specific decisions, respectively. contradiction. Economic policy as aggregate term that represents a wide variety of specific policies, tools, measures and actions which are government plans put into practice. The goal is to understand the system, its operation and its possibilities, as well as the ability to obtain at least a basic evaluation of economic development.
Syllabus
  • 1 Objectives of economic policy and the relationship between these objectives. Instrument of economic policy. Relations between tools and fairies economic policy. Holders of economic policy. Institutional environment. The concept of economic policy (statist, liberal, centrally directive, interventionist neoliberal). 2 Economic growth, inflation and unemployment. 3 The economic cycle. Stage of economic and political decision-making and time delays. Policy-making competition. Monopoly and antitrust legislation. State regulation and deregulation. Stabilization policy and its concept. 4 Fiscal and tax policy. State budget and public finance system. Government debt, its origin and solution. Monetary policy. 5 External economic policy (trade policy, exchange rate policy). Consistency and outer conflict and inner balance. "Magic Quad". Expansive and restrictive economic policy. 6 Structural policy. Structural crisis. The process of structural change. Strategy for structural policy. Structural policy and public sector.   Structural policy in multinational environment. 7 Social Policy. Socio-political doctrine (pre-Marxist and Marxist socialism, conservatism, Catholic social teaching, democratic socialism. 8 Economic Policy and the world economy (the international monetary system, economic policy coordination, economic policy   conditions of European Union). 9 Economic Policy in   centrally directive system. 10 Basic overview of the development of economic policy in the years   1900-2010   in the USA, Great Britain and Germany  . 11 Basic overview of the development of economic policy in the years   1900-2010   in Russia (USSR) and   China. 12 Basic overview of the development of economic policy in the years   1918-2010   in Czechoslovakia, respectively.   in the Czech Republic.

Teaching methods
Lecture, in which the theoretical knowledge gained self-compulsory and recommended literature deepened interpretation and answering queries. Exercise, in which they discussed specific effects of economic policy. Guided group consultation, which runs review the current knowledge, further discussion on the optimality of the implemented measures. The method of assessment is credit. Is a prerequisite for mastering pídemného test in the evaluation of student answer any additional questions the teacher.
