Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Student will be able to:
- identify and define the goals of Probation and mediation service,
- understand legislature,
- understand aspects of communication and the crisis of offenders and victims
- describe basic mediation techniques

Learning outcomes

Successful passing of the exam from the subject, which tests knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of probation and mediation.

  1. Review of information from the previous semester,
  2. Legislature and Probation and mediation service,
  3. Cooperation of PMS with other sectors,
  4. Restorative programmes,
  5. Institute for restorative justice,
  6. Non-profit organisations,
  7. Prison service,
  8. Conflict, crisis, and manipulation in communication with offenders and victims 
  9. Fundamental aspects of communication with clients in crisis, risk assessment of clients
  10. Mediation techniques and de-escalation of conflict
  11. Mediation – an example of mediation 
  12. Colloquium, mental health and coping strategies
