- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- In this course students should acquire a basic knowledge and overview in the field of sociology. Students will become familiar with the conditions in which this scientific field was established t, as well as its founders and further evolution. In the course students will gain a basic sociological terminology (i.e. social structure, status, group, power, and equality), theories (i.e. classical theories such as Weber, Marx or function structuralism). In the course we will also specifically focus on the area of the sociology of organisation, as well as theories on politic and power.

- 4. Politics, authority, power
- a) Theories of power and historical conditionality of politic

- Teaching methods
- Lectures and discussion to the topic and read literature.
- Assessment methods
- i) Active participation on no less than 75 % lectures/seminars. Participation will be condition for admission to written exam/test.
Note: Students with insufficient participation or with individual study plan will write an abstract/concept paper (2-5 pages) on selected sociological and/or economic or philosophical literature/book (that is related to the course topics and will be approved by teacher).
ii) Theoretical paper on selected topic, theory, author or work/book that will be in advance counselled with the course teacher. (Further conditions will be specified at the first meeting.)
iii) Written exam/test based on knowledge acquired in the lectures and in the readings.
Note: All three parts will generate specific score/points, and aggregate score that will then generate a final note. Parity on final score of singular parts and other conditions would be specified at the first meeting. - Language of instruction
