Course Enrolment Limitations

The course is offered to students of any study field.

Course objectives

The aim of the subjects is to introduce students with microeconomic on the bachelor level. The students will be able at the end of the course: - to understand basic laws and principles of economics (as law of diminishing marginal revenues, law of diminishing marginal product, principle of opportunity costs and principle of sunk costs) - to understand how consumers and firms decide from economic point of view - to understand how market equilibrium (compliance of supply and demand) is established - to understand the topic of elasticity - to analyze different market structures: perfect competition, imperfect competition (monopolistic competition, oligopoly, monopoly) - to know what indicator GDP means, how it is count, what is included in and what no - to understand the issue of GDP growth, how it is count, what are tha factors of GDP growth - to know what it is inflation, hoe it is measured, what are its causes and consequences

• The structure of the lectures: 1. lecture: definition and essence of microeconomics, basic terms, principles and laws of microeconomic. 2. lecture: money . 3. and 4 lecture: theory of consumer´s behavior, 5. a 6. theory of firm, 7. lecture: GDP, 8. lecture: long-term economic growth, 9. lecture: market and market equilibrium, 10. lecture: inflation, 11. lecture: perfect and imperfect competition, forms of imperfect competiton 12. lecture: revision

Teaching methods

Lectures and seminars on the present form of the study, consultations on the distant form of the study. Students should attend at least 60 % of the tuitions, otherwise they receive substitute homework.

Assessment methods

The subject is finished by credit and exam. The acquiring of credit is necessary condition for student to be able to take the exam. The student acquire the credit if (s)he pass the defined numbers of tests that are given during semester. The exam is verbal. The exam question are published in IS (information system) with minimal exam standards (the minimum knowledge that student must know to be able to pass the exam).
