- Course objectives
- After completing the course, students will be able to describe the basic models of democratic regimes in Europe and will be able to compare with the political system in the Czech Repubic. Students also gain the ability to compare different models and assess their advantages and disadvantages.

- The syllabus is divided to these topics: 1. Comparative Politics - contents and methods 2. Division of power in democratic systems 3. Electoral and party system of democratic countries 4. Model of Parliamentary democracy - Great Britain 5. Model of Semi-presidential democracy -France 6. Model of Racionalised parliamentarianism - Germany 7. Model of Semi-direct democracy - Switzerland 8. Model of Consociational democracy - Netherlands 9. Scandinavian model of the welfare state - Sweden 10. Model of Parliamentary democracy - Italy 11. The political system of Slovakia 12. Final summary

- Lectures in full-time studies and controlled group consultations in the form of study with a minimum participation of 50% in group consultations.

- Course is successfully completed credit. Criterion for the granting of credit is at the written test, which consists of thirty questions (minimum 50% points).
