Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Course objective: At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the basic business management processes. Students will learn about the role of business owners and managers, creation of medium-term strategies and the essence of operational management processes in marketing and trade. In the next semester, the course will continue (as Business Management 2) with the management of finance, quality, innovations, IS/IT and personnel. Special attention will be focused to the role of managers, their powers and responsibilities in managing key corporate activities. This is not only theoretical course. The knowledge from course will be presented on real situation and students will be tested, if understood and if they are able to use this knowledge. It is highly recommended to have high attendance in seminars.
Learning outcomes
After finishing of this course, students will understand, how is company managed and which processes are important there. The course is focused on who is a manager and what is important for successfully enterprise managing. Students will understand the evolution of management and reasons, which caused this evolution. Very important is ethics and social responsibility politic inside company and it should be used as a competitiveness advance in national or global markets. Students will understand, how to manage company in consistence with that and how to use this policy for enterprise managing and growth. Very important course objective is how to create successfully company strategy. Students will understand how is the enterprise manager able to make effective decision-making process, how to learn ourselves and others and support creativity in enterprise. This course is the firs step, how to start managing modern company and how to develop it.

Teaching methods
All daily form student’s attendance minimum is 75%, part time and ISP student’s attendance minimum is 50% of seminars. In case of lack attendance student will select some course topic with teacher agreement for extra assignment. The closer conditions will be uploaded by teacher to IS during the course.
Assessment methods
Teacher define student´s project – research in real company (needed teacher´s agreement for selected company). This project will be oriented to course knowledge and evaluated max. by 60 points. Minimum for research acceptance is 50 points. If research will be perfect for 60 points, then student will receive credit. If student will receive less than 60 points, than the student will have written or oral exam – based on teacher decision. Examination - it is required to reach minimum 50% from this examination to pass and obtain the credit.
