Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of MS Windows and Internet is assumed.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The objective of the course is to enhance students’ knowledge of MS Excell and PowerPoint 2010 by using practical examples. After completing the course students will be able to use these applications on a more advanced user level.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- to use functions in Excel
- to use graphs in Excel
- to use contingency tables in Excel
- to use database operations in Excel
- to create PowerPoint presentations
Syllabus
  • 1. Principles of work in the computer classroom, in the local network of VSFS, working with the school’s information system
    2. MS Excel – Common uses of Excel, data formats, simple formulas.
    3. MS Excel - Functions I (mathematical, statistical).
    4. MS Excel – Functions II (financial, search).
    5. MS Excel – Graphs.
    6. Midterm work.
    7. MS Excel – Data interpretation.
    8. MS Excel – Contingency tables.
    9. MS Excel - Databases.
    10. MS Office – Copying object between MS Office applications.
    11. MS PowerPoint – Creating a presentation.

Teaching methods
The subject is delivered in full-time study by 12 seminars. Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study. An assignment will be done each class, the working files can be found in the Study Materials folder of the subject.
Assessment methods
Completion of assignments that are practiced each class. All the class assignments are put week by week in the Study Materials folder. EVERYBODY HAS TO DELIVER HIS OWN WORK, BREAKING THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN NOT GETTING THE "z" GRADE.
