Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire detailed knowledge of legal regulations governing crisis management, basic concepts of crisis management, crisis management bodies and the conditions of their application in practice. Equip graduates with broad knowledge in this subject and prepare them for the application of knowledge in practice.

  • 1. Security system of the Czech Republic and its structure. Crisis management bodies.
    2. Crisis management in the Czech Republic, its mission and importance.
    3. The position of public administration and self-government, its responsibilities in crisis situations
    4. Planning system and crisis management documentation. Standards and principles of elaboration of crisis plans.
    5. Type plans
    6. Police, its mission and responsibilities in crisis situations
    7. HZS, its organization
    8. Integrated rescue system in the Czech Republic. Structure, mission, mutual cooperation.
    9. Emergency medicine and disaster medicine
    10. Logistics crisis management in healthcare
    11. Water Act and flood plans
    12. Hazardous substances and chemical accidents, legislative framework

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation, lectures, seminar exercises, elaboration of seminar work, practical exercises
Assessment methods
The course ends with a credit and an oral exam. Credit will be awarded after active participation in seminars. The required participation in the exercises is 50% for   KS and 75% for   PS. The criterion for passing the oral exam is the successful answering of 1 of   15 exam questions.
