Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to build on the knowledge gained in the Introduction to DBS in terms of advanced relational database functions. Students get acquainted with the creation of views, triggers, stored procedures. We will also deal with transaction issues and their planning and scheduling. Students will also get acquainted with non-SQL databases, data warehousing, data cubes etc.

Course objectives (in Czech)
Cílem předmětu je získat praktické znalosti a dovednosti v oblasti relačních databází, jakož i seznámit se s novými trendy v objektově relačních a objektových databázích. Podstatná část je věnována tvorbě vlastního databázového projektu.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Tato osnova je určena pro prezenční studium, průběh výuky pro kombinované studium je uveden ve studijních materiálech formou metodického listu (ML). Obsah přednášek: 1. Jazyk definice dat, indexy 2. Integritní omezení 3. Jazyk manipulace dat 4. Triggery, uložené procedury 5. Transakce 6. SQL a aplikační programy, kurzory 7. Práva a bezpečnost 8. Architektura IS: třívrstvá, centralizace/decentralizace, replikace, integrace 9. Datové sklady 10. Přednosti a nedostatky relačního modelu, objektový přístup 11. Objektové databáze 12. Objektově-relační rysy moderních databází 13. Současné trendy a vize budoucnosti. Shrnutí praktického přístupu ke tvorbě aplikací.

Typ výuky:Výuka probíhá formou přednášek a cvičení Rozsah povinné účasti ve výuce: Minimální povinná účast na cvičení v prezenčním studiu je 75%, na řízených skupinových konzultacích v kombinovaném studiu 50%. Studentům, kteří nesplní povinný rozsah účasti, mohou být v průběhu semestru zadány dodatečné studijní povinnosti (v míře, která umožní prokázat studijní výsledky a získané kompetence nezbytné pro úspěšné zakončení předmětu Způsob zakončení předmětu: Zápočet se udílí na základě semestrální práce: vlastní databázový projekt (od návrhu konceptuálního po SQL kód DDL, jeden vstupní/výstupní formulář). Zkouška je podmíněna zápočtem a je z 50% založena na semestrální práci a z 50% na písemném testu z teorie.
