- Prerequisite is basic knowledge of the fundaments of EU law as well as the institutional structure of the Union

- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Content of the subject id made up by the EU legal rules covering internal market legislation as basis of economic integration of the EU and related policies, including their legal framework – consumer policy, competition policy and trade policy. The aim is practical handeling of the competences EU institutions have in the implementation and development of these policies, their roles in judicial or administrative proceedings and the role of the Member States and/or parties to these proceedings in the course thereof and the implementation of the final desicions into the national legal environment
- Learning outcomes
- After passing the course the student will be able to: - identify and summarize important features of the main areas of judicial proceedings; - identify and describe sources or proceedings regulation, their mutual relationship and preferences; - apply the principial legal rules to practical problems of States emerging in implementation of the EU law; - compare and define differences in the types of administrative and court proceedings according to the EU law

- 1: European Court of Justice-establishment, Organization, judges, competences 2: General Court (first instance court) 3: Development of the judicial system after the Lisbon Treaty 4: proceedings before the Court of Justice-written part, oral proceedings , content 5: types of proceedings - taking of evidence, accelerated proceedings, interim measures, decision 6: Remedies, enforcement of judgments 7: direct actions (proceedings for breach of EU law, invalidity of the Act, the procedure for the EU of inaction, special types of procedure) 8. indirect action-the preliminary ruling procedure, the objection procedure the illegality of 9. Commission' – role as administrative body of the EU, decision-making powers 10: Types of proceedings conducted by the Commission 11. Judicial review of the decision of the Commission

- Teaching methods
- Lectures and seminars in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
- Assessment methods
- Course ends with a written test. The successful passing of the test is conditioned by the correct answering of at least 60 per cent from the in total 30 questions of the type 1 of n and m of n
