- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- To develop vocabulary and grammatical competences. At the end of the course students should be able to converse about the topics like leisure time, study, work and family. The emphasis will be given to the ability of reading Chinese characters. The objectives of this subject apply to combined study as well.
- Syllabus
- This syllable is designed for both full-time and combined studies. Lesson 1 – conversation on familiar topics, the topic: Where are you? Lesson 2 – grammar: interrogative pronouns, characters. Lesson 3 – the topic: activities, suggestions, apologies, conversation. Lesson 4 – grammar: adverbial of the time and place in a sentence, characters. Lesson 5 – the topic: introductions. Lesson 6 – grammar: verb suffixes “yixia” Lesson 7 – the topic: studying, grammar: possessive structures. Lesson 8 – grammar: making questions in Chinese, characters. Lesson 9 – the topic: family, characters – reading. Lesson 10 – the topic: basic mathematical operations, characters – reading. Lesson 11 – grammar: the verb “to have”, interrogative words “how many”. Lesson 12 – revision and summary.

COMPULSORY PARTICIPATION in seminar is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study. 2. CREDIT TEST Condition for credit is achieving at least 30 points out of 50.
