Abstract
Abstract (in English)
Czech Republic ranks among the most stable and economically fastest growing economies of the former communist countries. Even so, 27 years after the transition to a market economy, we are still lagging behind neighboring countries (Germany, Austria), especially in terms of living standards and wages. Despite assurances that the levels of the above mentioned countries rapidly closer, it is still significantly wrong. Recently, with the most points on wages, which lags behind neighboring states, despite the fact that our price level is lower than just in the countries concerned. The paper is so focused on identifying the reasons why this is so, and also to outline possible measures that would lead to an increase in economic and living standard of the Czech Republic.
