Anotace
Anotace anglicky
Shaken baby syndrome (SBS) is most often caused by shaking and shaking with a baby or infant, regardless of the part of the child's body that is shaken and trembling, legs, arms, chest or shoulders. The baby's head and neck are extremely vulnerable just because the head is so large and the neck muscles are still weak. The baby's brain and vessels are very fragile, and shaking, jerking or violent tearing causes hyperflexion or hyperextension of the neck muscles with serious consequences. Sudden shaking can result in brain damage (leading to mental retardation, speech or learning disorders), paralysis, epileptic seizures, hearing loss or even death. It can also cause bleeding in the brain or around the eyes resulting in blindness. The paper presents the results of the experiments carried out with the infant biomechanical model. The author reports the acceleration values of the head that have reached the average performance probability. The hypothesis has been confirmed that by shaking a short period of time for a few seconds, one is able to cause overloading, which achieves a critical limit for survival in an internal injury to the head to harm the child.
