Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Annotation is the same for both forms of study. Objective of the course: The aim of this course is to introduce students thoroughly today's computer networks, their hardware and software solutions. After completing the course the student should master the design and management of medium sized networks including the evaluation of possible solutions.
Syllabus
  • This curriculum is designed for full-time study, course of instruction for part-time study is presented in a study materials.

  • First Basic concepts,Distribution networks
  • Models of the ISO / OSI and TCP / IP
  • Second Transmission of information
  • Physical layer network model
  • Third Network Architecture: Ethernet, token ring, ATM and others
  • Joining networks
  • Internet protocol (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Protocol FTP
  • HTTP and mail in   Internet (SMTP, POP3, IMAP)
  • Security (encryption, certificates)
  • Protection and Network Management
  • General revision

Teaching methods
Teaching takes the form / lectures / seminars / workshops / full-time study / group consultations and managed in the form of study.
Assessment methods
The scope of compulsory participation in education: Minimum mandatory participation in seminars / workshops in   full-time studies is 75%, the controlled group consultations in combined form   50%. Students who fail to meet mandatory scope of participation, may be given during the semester   additional study obligations (to the extent that will demonstrate academic achievement and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of course).
