Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the basic issues and current world and European history, particularly in   interwar period and after World War II
Syllabus
  • This curriculum is designed for full-time study, course of instruction for kominované study is given in the study material in the form of study support. 1 Beginnings of the formation of the Czech modern politics. 2 Political events between 1848 and 1849. 3 The fifties and sixties of the nineteenth century – on the way to „dualism“. 4 Czech politics in the Austro-Hungarian empire. 5 Czech politics during the First World War. Formation of the Czechoslovak Republic. 6 The first ten years of the new republic. 7 Since the big economic crisis at the end of the first republic. 8 The second republic. 9 Protectorate. The Slovak state. Resistance movement inland and abroad. 10 From 1945 till 1948. 11 Since February 1948 till the formation of the federation. 12 Since the beginnings of the federation till its end.

Teaching methods
Minimum compulsory seminar participation is 80% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study. Additional tasks can be given to students who fail to meet compulsory participation (to the extent that will demonstrate study achievements and acquired competencies necessary for successful completion of the course).
Assessment methods
The course is completed with a credit and a verbal examination. Active participation at the seminars is required to award a credit.
