The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
To familiarize students with the content and scope of forensic psychology as a specific branch of psychology and its use in forensic practice.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, student should be able to:
- Identify and evaluate important aspects of forensic psychology,
- Define and describe current aspects of forensic psychology from the point of view of offender, victim and professionals,
- Recognize ethical aspects of forensic psychology.

  • 1.Introduction into the study of forensic psychology and its history
  • 2.Forensic psychology from the point of view of general psychology
  • 3. Forensic psychology from the point of view of social and developmental psychology
  • 4.Theory of aggression and aggressive behavior
  • 5.Kriminal career,specialisation and differentiation of offenders, classification and typology of offenders
  • 6.Delinquent behavior
  • 7.Fear from criminality, victimology, prevention of criminality
  • 8.Recidivism, probation a reintegration, evaluation of risks offenders
  • 9.Police psychology, interrogation, interviews with children
  • 10.Ethical aspects of forensic psychology, forensic psychologist as judiciary expert
  • 11.Osobnost pachatele, poruchy osobnosti, profilování
  • 12. Výzkum v oblasti forenzní psychologie

Assessment methods
To receive credit - attendance at seminars, completion of essay. If the presence at the seminars is less than 65%, then the student is obliged to hand in another esej. Absence due to illness is not counted.

To receive grade - multiplechoice test, which consists of 50 questions
