Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
To familiarize students with the content and scope of forensic psychology as a specific branch of psychology and its use in forensic practice.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, student should be able to:
- Identify and evaluate important aspects of forensic psychology,
- Define and describe current aspects of forensic psychology from the point of view of offender, victim and professionals,
- Recognize ethical aspects of forensic psychology.

  • 4. Forensic psychology in the context of social psychology
  • 5. Forensic psychology in the context of developmental psychology
  • 6. Forensic psychology in the context of personality psychology and personality disorders
  • 7. Typology of offenders and criminal career
  • 8. Theory of aggression and deliquency
  • 9. Introduction to Police psychology
  • 10. Introduction to penitentiary and postpenitentiary psychology
  • 11. Introduction to psychology and law
  • 12. Fear of crime, victimology, crime prevention

Assessment methods
To receive credit - attendance at seminars, completion of essay. If the presence at the seminars is less than 65%, then the student is obliged to hand in another esej. Absence due to illness is not counted.

To receive grade - multiplechoice test, which consists of 50 questions
