- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with a deeper explanation of the issue of victims of crime. After stating the basic criminological categories, we will also focus on the position of the injured party and the victims in criminal proceedings, on their rights and obligations, and assistance to victims of crime. In this context, the course will also contain information related to the sanctioning of the offender, his involvement in the process of restorative justice, with the cooperation of the injured party. Students will get acquainted with selected issues and concepts in the field of victimology, which deals with victims of crime. In addition to the necessary theoretical knowledge, students will also gain some practical information.

- 1. Victimology as a part of criminology, crime science. Relationship victimology and criminal law. 2. Status, structure and dynamics of crime, victimization research. 3. Injury and victims of crime. 4. Protection of victims of crime, assistance to victims of crime. 5. Victims and perpetrators of crime. 6. Crime control. 7. Sanctioning of perpetrators and penological systems. Victim satisfaction crime. 8. Principles of restorative justice. Probation and Mediation Service. 9. Diversions in criminal proceedings from the point of view of the injured party. 10. Particularly vulnerable victims of crime - the elderly, children, women. 11. Psychology of crime victims. 12. Victimological prevention.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
- Assessment methods
- The course ends with a credit and an exam. The criterion for granting the credit is the elaboration of a seminar work on a given topic together with its presentation in teaching (minimum 50% of points). The exam is in the form of a written test, which consists of 30 questions (choice of three options, or supplementation of the text of the answer).
