- Course objectives
- In course of study, the students shall obtain and further master a basic theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of logistics, its objectives and position within the economics. Also, they shall learn the role of logistics in mastering a business and enterprise management and its influence on products´ competitiveness. Students shall get acquainted with contemporary logistical technologies that help to identify and solve possible coherent risks and weak points in supply chain management. Applicability of the acquired knowledge and abilities to the professional life shall be amplified through real-life application studies and tutored exercises.

- 1. Introduction into the logistics - key terms, history, application, subjects of logistics, philosophy. 2. Contemporary trends in logistics - logistic service providers´ view on further development. 3. Mission and strategy of company’s logistical system - product or service value share, additional client services. 4. Establishing the logistic system - modalities and methods, support. 5. Logistic technologies – review of available technologies, propriate choice. 6. Logistics of international trade, intl. Commercial terms, transport usages, risks and risk management. 7. Transnational and global logistics – infrastructure, air and sea transport, Port of Hamburg. 8. Logistic technologies in forwarding business. 9. Supply Chain Management. 10. Inventory management / Warehouse management. 11. Outsourcing of logistic services, Insourcing – service suppliers, strategic alliances. 12. Czech logistic market – summary, credit

- The subject is delivered in study by seminars of theory, practical examples and theory application
- Assessment methods
- The subject is completed by exam in the form of individual written test (20 questions). Grading will be based on min. 60% success rate in this test.
